Kanata Kara or From Far Away is a shoujo manga by mangaka Hikawa Kyouko. It tells the story of a young girl named Noriko who often dreams of another world. Until one day, during an explosion near her school, she finds herself in this strange other-world. People believe her to be The Awakening (Mezame) of legends, destined to protect them from the Darkening (Tenjoki). So of course, everyone's after her for various (often unscrupulous) reasons. Thankfully she is saved early on by a dark, mysterious bishounen named Izaku, who lets her tag along with him. But there's more to Izaku than just a protector...
